Style Guide
__Insert:Swatch__This Style Guide explains how to prepare your articles. The intro goes here - note: Never use the "quotes" or "comments" feature (described below) in the article Intro Text. The Intro section of the article (the top text area in your text editor) is intended to be an article abstract and normally should not be more than a paragraph of two.  Every article is accompanied with a 'Swatch' icon which is 160x120 pixels and will be prepared for you. Normally, if the icon is prepared you will see it along with the rest of your artwork files and will be named like artXYZicon.jpg, where XYZ is the article number. Notice that the text magically flows around the swatch. We will insert a special piece of HTML text to make this happen.

Navigation Panel Help PDF Print E-mail
Written by Loren Abdulezer

Each issue in the Xcelsius Journal has an interactive 'print block' or navigation panel of four images, one for each article in the issue. This navigation panel allow you to go directly to the article, retrieve the download files, or go to the discussion forums on the article. Read on to find out how.

Overview

You may have noticed that as you move your mouse over each of the four images in the Navigation Panel appearing on the front cover of each issue, that the panel in focus is highlighted, and the other three are grayed out. In addition, there is a set of options over the highlighted panel (see Figure 1).

Your three options are to go directly to the article, download files, or go to the forum topic associated with the highlighted article. Click the item for the desired option. When the item is clicked notice that the button title below the options is updated to reflect the option you just selected. To perform the action just click the button. You'll be taken directly to the appropriate page.

You will receive an email message requesting that you click the link to activate your new account. If you do not complete the account activation, you will not be able to finish the registration process and you will be unable to download files perform other privileged tasks associated with your membership.

It is important to note that all email addresses supplied for a registration MUST be valid and unique. This means you cannot hold multiple accounts associated with a single email address.

Downloading Files in the File Vault

The files associated with the articles are all available for download if you are a registered member of the Xcelsius Journal (the previous section describes how to register). You can always see the files available for downloading in the File Vault (see Figure 4).

Although the file is listed, there is no download icon or link visible until after you log in.

Notice in Figure 5 that both the download icon and 'Download' link become visible (once you log in).
